BURN: News You Can Lose

swede

The age of Hope&Change finds us in need of new vocabulary. It would seem the "weeweeupedness" taking place in the "lamestream media" over the new Congress has predictably entered "silly season." From Media Research Center:

Meredith Vierra - Healthcare repeal = "act of revenge."

Per ABC, Nancy Pelosi = "Galvanized steel with a smile." *** Boehner = "Weeper of the House."

Couric Frets: 'Is There Danger Budget Cuts Will Be Too Deep?'

CBS's Smith: GOP On 'Fool's Errand' of 'Dismantling Health Care'

MSNBC's Brewer: 'GOP's Big, Fat Budget Ax Could Mean Real Pain For Many Americans'

And of course PMSNBC's Ed "Sargeant" Schultz vows to "fight these bastards every night..." Via The Right Scoop

I know NOTHING!!

Pew Research finds, "Nearly two-thirds of Americans think the news stories they read, hear and watch are frequently inaccurate...That marks the highest level of skepticism recorded since 1985, when this study of public perceptions of the media was first done."

In the good old days when Walter Cronkite said "...and that's the way it is", the majority of Americans believed that was the way it was. Interestingly, a Time poll after "Uncle Walter's" death last year wondered "Now that Walter Cronkite has passed on, who is America's most trusted newscaster?" A rather disconcerting reality emerges:

Sigh.

  1. Heaven help us all... I have never even seen him report the news, and I live in Idaho! I thought he was a stand-up comedian?

  2. Americans are catching on.

The dino-media are corrupt, and increasingly we are turning our backs on them.

Citizen journalism is now the norm, and...barring the Collective's successful push to muzzle us...there is no turning back!

  3. Loralee and the gang..."I thought he was a stand-up comedian?"

He is - or rather now a "sit-down" comedian. He is not a newscaster at all which is why it's just bizarre he's rated the most credible newscaster.

    "...there is no turning back!"

Affirmative. I doubt FCC will get to first base trying to reign in the net. Once people get a taste of real freedom they won't let it go. Wonder why they made it the First Ammendment. Well no, I don't.
